In order to develop and empower human resources in the agricultural sector to fulfill the missions of the Ministry of Jihad Agriculture, improve job skills, improve productivity, facilitate the process of knowledge transfer and new technologies, develop agricultural training and extension capacities and the establishment of an agricultural knowledge and information management network with the aim of achieving knowledge-based agriculture, the Institute of Agricultural Education and Extension is established and managed based on the following goals and tasks.

1- Development and empowerment of knowledge and skills of human resources in the agricultural sector.

2- Facilitating the process of transferring new knowledge and technologies to audiences and learners.

3- Developing and enhancing the job skills of the audience and learners.

4- Development of agricultural activities of rural and nomadic women and youth.

5- Development of knowledge management and information system of agricultural sector.

6- Developing the capacities of education and promotion of incorporative participatory agriculture.

7- Efforts to integrate branches and coordinate educational and extension activities of institutions in the agricultural sectors
